Julius Ceasar was a Roman military general who became emperor of the Roman Republic from 59 BC to 44 BC. Julius created jobs for poor Roman citizens, forced landowners to use paid workers as well as slaves, and distributed land that he conquered by the Roman army to poor citizens.
Unfortunately, Caesar was assassinated. Brutus lead a group of Roman senators to stabbed Caesar to death in front of the senate building. THey had felt that Caesar's absolute ruling had taken power from them, they also feared that Caesar's reform system helped the plebeians at the expense of the patricians (all of the senators), and they also had feared that Caesar would take advantage of his power and use it against the entire empire.
